Bangalore’s new Commissioner of Police Kamal Pant said on Saturday that strengthening security and safety in Bengaluru will remain a top priority for many important establishments operating in the city.
The officer, formerly ADGP (Intelligence), was transferred on Friday.
He replaces Bhaskar Rao, who has now been made ADGP-Internal Security.
The new commissioner told reporters that he was aware of the challenges before him as a series of explosions occurred in the city in the past.
“We are vigilant and our action against the culprits will continue,” Mr. Pant said.
The outgoing Commissioner Bhaskar Rao was given a grand farewell.
