Pakistan Cricket Board conducts coronovirus test for reserve players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Thursday that it has conducted COVID-19 tests for five reserve players and one backup player support personnel. The five players tested were Bilal Asif, Imran Butt, Mohammad Nawaz, Musa Khan and Rohel Nazir as well as masseur Mohammad Imran. PCB Cricket said in a statement, “The Pakistan Cricket Board has today confirmed five reserve players and one backup player support personnel has tested the COVID-19.” Asif, Butt, Nawaz and Khan were originally named as reserve players on 12-June when the 29-player squad was announced, while Nazir was added as the backup wicketkeeper.

The PCB further stated that “on Thursday, 18 players and 11 player support personnel participated in the second round of testing, while 10 players and one player support personnel, who tested positive earlier in the week, will retire on Friday.”

The PCB will announce the results of all tests on Saturday.

The ten players who tested positive were Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan, Hyder Ali, Harish Rauf and Shadab Khan.
